What we offer
The main services offered by the Brazil Angola Community Information Centre either in English or in Portuguese are:
- English classes (2h on Fridays, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm)
- Conversation groups in Portuguese for Canadians and individuals who are either learning or improving their proficiency in Portuguese
- Workshops and Information Work Sessions about cultural and psycological adaptation, as well as other themes of interest (go to Events)
- Individual counselling about immigration to Canada - for newcomers, landed immigrants, workers, students, family members, etc.
- Counselling about the resources that may help with the integration of newcomes into Canadian society – health system, education for children and adults, work opportunities and community resources available for newcomers
- Counselling about the first steps for newcomers in Canada - how to open a bank account, finding a Health Centre or a family doctor, how to use the transit system, how to get a driver license, etc.
- Suggestions on where to buy winter clothes, furniture, house appliances, etc, at reduced prices.
- Help with filling out official documents and forms either in English or Portuguese
- Organization of cultural and leisure activities (See Events)
- Cooperation with researchers of any nationality, who are studying social aspects of immigration

We take care of all our clients and their individual requests on Fridays, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at St. Christopher House (248 Ossington Avenue, at the intersection with Dundas Street West), in the room to the left inside the front entrance. This is an area easily accessed by wheelchairs and strollers. The nearest subway station is Ossington and it is possible to commute using the bus No. 63 - Ossington Southbound.
